5 signs you're addicted to running
Ah, running, my great therapy from everything. Most of the people that know me will tell you that running is my thing, it excites me, calms me down, relaxes me, helps to relieve the stress and, obviously, keeps me in shape.
It's funny, how i just started to realize that i'm addicted to running and everything that is related to it! The first sign was when i started planning my days around my jogging schedule, it became a priority. Let me elaborate more about these addiction signs and maybe you realize that you're just like me - a running junky!
1. You plan your day around your running schedule.
You know running became a priority when you have to cancel your plans with your friends, because you have to go for a run at 8pm and if you don't it will mess up the whole training plan.
2. You have playlists with names like "Long run jams" and "10k tunes".
Basically music lists that you wouldn't listen in your normal state, or let anyone else to hear, because it contains some crazy Latina songs, trashy gangsta rap, weirdly remixed 80's disco music, or even ALL of them. Honestly, i hope no one discovers my playlists, i already told too much!
3. You get more excited about shopping for trainers than shopping for high-heels.
Yes, that happens to me every time. Once, i specifically went to town to buy myself a pair of high heels for the black tie event. Guess what? I ended up buying brand new Karrimor trainers. My reasoning was "I own perfectly fine old black high heels pair, i wore at uni night outs, no one will even notice those alcohol stains, anyway."
Narrator: "They did notice."
4. You think it's perfectly reasonable to go for a run at 12 o'clock at night, after your evening shift.
People say, aren't you afraid you will get mugged or attacked running that late at night? First of all, get mugged? Probably the most valuable thing with me while i run is my dirty running shoes. So, unless a mugger is into that kinda stuff, i would't worry too much. Second thing, attacked? I don't think the attacker could out run me. Plus adrenaline would keep me going even faster, so there is no chance for the attacker get me. Finally, I NEED TO RUN, no matter what time it is.
5. You are obsessed about new running apps.
You are in the forever lasting search for the perfect running app. Started with Endomondo, but you now want for something more fancy, so go fo Nike+ Running. Just to keep yourself updated, you installed RunKeeper. Your fitness motivator/crush on instagram recommended Fuel My Run app, so now you have to check it out too, you know, purely for research. So know you have 5 different running apps on your phone. Well done.
