Performance & Non-Aesthetic Body Goals

It is totally OK and even more freeing to set a goal outside of muscle gain and fat loss boundaries. Fitness DOES exist outside these norms.

Let me explain, of course there is nothing wrong with wanting to “add some mass to my a$$” or “to lose some fat”. But is it really IT? Is this where you wanna draw the finish line? You can do so much more, my friend!

For example setting a goal like “ I want to increase my deadlift by 30kg in the next year” requires a lot of “gaining muscle” and “losing fat”, and the results are a lot more rewarding than overly vague goals.

So, THINK what do YOU want achieve, accomplish?

To increase your Deadlift PR requires:

  • Consistent, well structured, progressive training plan

  • Challenging weight training

  • A moderate-high protein intake

  • Fruit and veggie intake for recovery

  • Stress management for good gym sessions

  • Constant hydration and plenty of sleep

A fat loss and muscle gain requires:

  • ALL OF THE ABOVE!

See my point?

If your main goal in mind is fat loss and muscle gain, I recommend you to step back and rethink your big WHY. So, now, I ask you, to chase your BIG WHY!

Running, known for “isn’t good for muscle growth” is damn amazing goal to have, your first 5k, 10k or a marathon is such a freeing and empowering experience! Getting your first pull up - feels far better than a 2kg scale drop! Mastering a squat and being able to lift 5kg more than you did in the beginning feels like nothing else can stop you in your fitness journey!

So when you set intentions with your fitness goals - please ask yourself - What would your goal be if your body never changed from this point?

And pursue that!
